Resetting the US Women’s National Team with a transformational hire
Challenge
After their worst-ever World Cup display, the US Women’s National team needed a new head coach to lead the team to the 2024 Olympics and beyond
Solution
After understanding US Soccer’s technical criteria for the role, we supported the recruitment process in developing a market-wide index evaluation of all relevant candidates to help develop a shortlist.
From there, and working with Elite Performance Partners, we conducted a deep due diligence on all the candidates, developing interview questions based on their performance data to help refine US Soccer’s understanding of all the candidates.
Impact
US Soccer hired Emma Hayes, making her the best-paid female coach in the world and on equal pay with the men’s national team coach.
The US Women’s National team won their first major tournament under Hayes, collecting the gold medal at the Paris Olympic Games.
