Three January transfer window deals that have caught our eye

  1. Kosta Nedeljkovic (Red Star Belgrade to Aston Villa): Twenty First Group’s Player Model rates Nedeljkovic as the world’s fourth-best right back born in 2005 or later, and the best outside the big 5 markets. In three years we predict him to be good enough to start in the Premier League

  2. Vitor Roque (Athletico PR to Barcelona): the best striker in the world born in 2005 or later according to our model, and at a reported €40m was purchased at 5% below our expected price for Barcelona, representing a good deal

  3. Renan Lodi (Marseille to Al Hilal): Lodi, a left back, will likely take the place of Saudi international Yasser Al Shahrani in the starting XI. In a league lacking domestic quality, Al Shahrani is, in our model, one of the Pro League’s top ten Saudi players. The move suggests opportunism is still a driving force for transfers into the SPL
