Challenge
Stoke City asked us to help them navigate the club through Covid-induced losses and the loss of player values.
Solution
Working with senior management, we conducted a player impairment review in the 2020, 2021 and 2022 financial years, with the objective of helping the club understand its losses due to Covid.
Our analysis identified the impact that changes in market activity had on the values of Stoke City players, while also accounting for changes in performance, injuries, and contractual situations.
Impact
Stoke City were able to demonstrate to financial auditors the impact of Covid-19 on their financial position through an independent, objective approach.
