Energy Meter: a unique asset on broadcast

Challenge

Aramco wanted to sponsor an innovative and unique asset to add value to the broadcast of their Aramco Team Series events. They also wanted an asset which connected with their brand as a leading global energy supplier.

Solution

Working in alignment with Aramco, Golf Saudi and the Ladies European Tour, TFG created a bespoke algorithm which used ball-tracking data to measure and quantify the amount of energy that each player imparted on the ball with their strokes off the tee. This insight illustrated both the athletes execution on the course, as well as their strategic approach to the hole.

Managing various parties, we were able to produce an on-screen graphic which added richer narratives throughout the event and fitted perfectly with Aramco’s brand through the creation and use of the ‘Energy Meter powered by Aramco’.

Impact

The Energy Meter has been used throughout the 2023, 2024 and 2025 Aramco Team Series events, with plans to further leverage the asset in terms of data insights and storytelling narratives to enhance the coverage of the events.
