The challenge of marketing test cricket

On behalf of Twenty First Group, I am delighted to have had the opportunity to appear on the Unofficial Partner Podcast, the leading sports business podcast hosted by Richard Gillis. 

In this hour-long episode, I joined Chief Commercial Officer of the England and Wales Cricket Board Tony Singh to discuss how test cricket can be marketed effectively, to safeguard its future. This is a question that is back on the agenda in the wake of England’s disappointing Ashes tour of Australia, with many people questioning how test cricket can be better prioritised within English cricket.

We reflect on how test cricket could be enhanced and made more accessible around the world, and the challenge of balancing the desire that exists to prioritise test cricket with the commercial and revenue targets that the sport needs to meet in order to grow and sustain itself in the long run.
